One of the busiest people working in fashion today, fashion designer / photographer and 1920s-films-aficionado, Karl Lagerfeld photographed what might be considered his best editorial yet, a stunning tribute to the legendary Fritz Lang silent German expressionism sci-fi film, “Metropolis” (1927), titled “Rückkehr nach Metropolis” (Return to Metropolis).The original film starred silent film heroine Brigitte Helm, playing Maria and the robot version of her character along with Alfred Abel.
