BALMAIN SPRING 2012 COLLECTION

How amazing is the plunge neck, long-sleeve dress. Seen on Anna Dello Russo during Paris Fashion week

Fabulous!!

Drop dead gorgeous

Loving this slitted long denim skirt

This Denim shirt is HOTTT!

This suit kills me every time I see it!
VERDICT: I am so loving this collection. I see a little spanish influence with the embroidery and golds, a little urban with the denim pieces here and there. Balmains tailoring  and cut is always superb. Edgy, sophicated and sexy is what describes this collection!

Since the beginning of this year (2011), I noticed how many covers and editorial were done on Prada stripe (which has been a very successful trend for 2011). The most common item from the Prada Spring 2011 Collection had to be this orange, pink and black striped cocktail number. Worn by fashion greats such as Claudia Schiffer and Gwen Stefani, to new-comer's such as Hailee Steinfeld.

Crazy about Houndstooth

I have been updating this post since Oct 25th 2011, when I first published it, because I kept stubbling across new celebs in amazing Houndstooth garments (mostly Ferragamo). This is my last updated post lol.

Houndstooth checks originated in woven wool cloth of the Scottish Lowlands, but are now used in many other materials. The traditional houndstooth check is made with alternating bands of four dark and four light threads in both warp and filling or weft woven in a simple 2:2 twill (two over - two under the warp, advancing one thread each pass). In an early reference to houndstooth, De Pinna, a New York City based men's and women's high end clothier founded in 1885, included houndstooth checks textile pattern along with gun club checks and Scottish plaids as part of its 1933 spring men's suits collection.

Houndstooth has been around for ages... We have seen designers from Alexander McQueen ('09) to Salvatore Ferragamo ('11) make beautiful garments using this print fabric. All we can say is that its fabulous!!!!
